The ACVPM Continuing Education Committee is pleased to invite ACVPM diplomates, ACVPM exam candidates, and active members of our partner organizations, the National Association of Federal Veterinarians, the American Association of Food Safety and Public Health Veterinarians, the US Animal Health Association, and the National Association of State Public Health Veterinarians to an upcoming continuing education webinar. 


Dr. Jonathan Lustgarten will present "Veterinary Informatics: What it is, how it is used today, and why it is so critical to understand in the age of Artificial Intelligence".  This presentation will focus on Veterinary Informatics, a crucial intersection between veterinary medicine, data, operations, and information technology. It explains how computational tools and data analysis techniques are applied in veterinary science to improve diagnosis, treatment, and disease prevention in animals.

Participants must attend at least 50 minutes of the webinar to receive a one-hour CE certificate.

The webinar is RACE-approved and also is approved for continuing education credit for veterinarians licensed in the State of New York.

This presentation will focus on Veterinary Informatics, a crucial intersection between veterinary medicine, data, operations, and information technology. It explains how computational tools and data analysis techniques are applied in veterinary science to improve diagnosis, treatment, and disease prevention in animals. 


The core of the presentation is to understand the key pillars of veterinary informatics: the medicine, the data, and the tools to extract or apply the data to the medicine.  We will review how to improve the data and information stored in our systems and incorporate existing tools or develop advanced tools for various workflows.  It will also highlight current and future opportunities for veterinary informatics to shape our industry. 


Additionally, the discussion will extend to the significance of artificial intelligence (AI) in veterinary informatics, emphasizing the need for veterinary professionals to understand these evolving technologies, their benefits, and how to utilize them effectively. This talk is designed to provide veterinary professionals with a clear understanding of veterinary informatics, its applications, and its increasing importance in the era of AI in veterinary medicine.
