The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) plays a critical role in safeguarding the health of U.S. agriculture and natural resources. Through its various programs, APHIS regulates genetically engineered crops, administers the Animal Welfare Act, certifies the health of agricultural exports, and resolves phytosanitary and sanitary issues to ensure the success of U.S. plant and animal products in the global market.

One of the key operational programs under APHIS is Veterinary Services (VS), the leading veterinary authority in the country. VS is committed to protecting and improving the health, quality, and marketability of our nation’s animals, animal products, and veterinary biologics. They achieve this by preventing, controlling, and eliminating animal diseases, while also promoting animal health and productivity. We are excited to invite you to our upcoming VS Learning Session, where you’ll have the opportunity to gain insight into the culture and daily operations of VS.

During the session, we will provide valuable information about career opportunities in veterinary services, internship programs, various hiring paths, employee benefits, resume writing tips, and navigating USAJOBS.

USDA VS guest speakers will be Dr. Rachel Cezar-Martinez, a Veterinary Medical Officer, and Mr. Daniel Nelson, an Animal Health Technician, who will share their journeys and experiences working in VS!
